Potent Printings is a screen-printing studio based in rural Scotland. Founded by Harry Campbell, it is located amongst a few fields in an old community hall in the middle of nowhere. Harry was inspired by his mother’s creative brilliance. She was a screen printer before he was born and passed down her passion and creativity for the medium.
Harry completed two years at college studying a course in ‘creative printmaking’. Although he was fascinated by the process and found a true passion for printmaking, he was unimpressed by the teaching standards and dissatisfied by the course. After his studies, Harry partook in a long process of trial and error, making a mess along the way in order to learn more and more about printmaking. A couple of years down the line, he now has his own functioning studio and early stages of a brand.
Potent Printings produces limited run clothing and other hand-printed goods with an aim to be as earth friendly and sustainable as possible, using no plastic in their entire printing and packaging process. Not only is Harry creating his own work, Potent Printings also has a string of collaborations lined up working closely with a collective of artists. From t-shirts to record sleeves, items will be available in a variety of formats and styles at an affordable price. Harry also has a love for film photography, which he hopes to intertwine with the way in which he brands and exhibits Potent Printing’s creations.
Harry recently joined our official People of Print membership community. You can apply here.
