Sascha Fronczek is an independent Art Director and Graphic Designer based in Karlsruhe, Germany. He specialises in graphic design and typography with a focus on books, exhibitions, exhibition catalogues, posters and the development of corporate designs.
He works collaboratively with experts from different disciplines and builds strong relationships with clients in order to optimise output in permanent exchange. He predominantly works with and for cultural institutions and publishing houses, along with other Graphic Designers and artists such as: 2xGoldstein, Jan Kießwetter, Magma Design, Anne-Sophie Stolz, Kehrer Verlag, Park Books, ZKM Karlsruhe and Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden.
Sascha believes that the development of a good book involves a strong concept with convincing typographic design and composition, as well as a great deal of experimentation. For Sascha, every book, poster and exhibition needs an unmistakable creative form.
His current projects include the development of custom-made typefaces for various clients; the catalogue for “Die Schönsten Deutschen Bücher 2018” / Stiftung Buchkunst (The Best German Book Design 2018), the architecture book “Der Glaube an das Grosse der Moderne” / Park Books (The Belief in the Great Modernism), photographic artist books “Tussøy” and “Wild West” (Kehrer Verlag), as well as various exhibitions in German-speaking countries. In 2019 Sascha was a member of the jury for “Best Book Design From All Over The World” / Stiftung Buchkunst.
