A new exciting magazine that has recently been published is arts and culture magazine, Emulsion. This artist-led publication was born out of a desire to represent progressive creatives whose work pushes the boundaries of their respective genres. Today we feature the very first edition featuring an array of artist interviews, photography, fashion, music, original artworks and opinions from the likes of:
Alessia Gunawan, Antonia Marsh, Eden Chau-Morrow, Ida Ekblad, James Lincoln, Jonathan Castro, Kelman Duran, Lorenzo Senni, Madeleine Morlet, Marc Dall, Mark Leckey, Stelarc, Tali Lennox, Theo Chin, Toxe, Wilson Oryema and William Berington.

“One of the articles that we’re particularly excited to publish is our interview with Norwegian painter Ida Ekblad. While the publication was still in its early stages, curator and gallerist Antonia Marsh expressed an interest in interviewing Ida for us. What came out of their meeting is a great insight into Ida’s wonderfully diverse practice and how she runs her event and gallery space ‘Schloss’. Ida’s practice is drawn from an interest in both art and music, and her personal experiences with each of them. These inspirations really shine through in her colourful paintings and make her a great example of the kind of artists we want to highlight with this publication.”
Michael Opie O’Grady – Co-founder and Creative director said:
“Another of our favourite pieces explores the work of Kelman Duran, a Dominican-born multimedia artist, producer and resident DJ at ‘Rail Up’, an African-Caribbean inspired dance party in LA. We interviewed Duran in the wake of his new album, entitled ‘13th Month’, which was released this November on Apocalipsis record label. We’ve also spotlighted his powerful visual works and what drove him to document people living in border towns in the U.S. Duran reveals how his time spent at the Pine Ridge reservation, South Dakota, had a significant impact on both his music and his ongoing film project ‘To The North.”
