Sublimation Printing

Sublimation Printing

If you have designs that are too complicated or too colorful for screen printing, but you don’t want to compromise, what can you do?  Why not try sublimation printing?  Screen printing is pretty standard for most customized apparel, but it has limitations.  Since you need 1 screen per ink color, designs that have lots of colors mean they need lots of screens and you need to able to load all of those screens on the printing press which may not be able to support that many!

Sublimation printing is different than screen printing because it doesn’t mess around with screens and printing inks.  Instead sublimation printing uses special heat reactive dyes that are administered to a transfer sheet using a sublimation printer.  It works off of the digital art file so every detail and color is perfectly captured.  Once the design is on the transfer sheet all you have to do is heat press it to the blank garment you want to customize and you’re done!  The heat causes the dyes to vaporize and the pressure forces the dyes to become infused with the very fibers of the garment to permanently lock the design in place.

Since you don’t have to worry about fine details not making it to the screen or how many colors it will take to get all of the shades in your artwork you are free to let your creativity loose!  Photographs are a piece of cake to print with sublimation printing so the sky is limit.  If you are interested in doing your custom sublimation printing here at AMBRO Manufacturing, you can get your own project started by reaching out to one of our representatives.  You can easily contact us to place an order, or to find out more about our company and customization services, by email or by giving us a call at (908) 806-8337.
