Dye-Sublimation Printing
Have you heard of the hottest customization trend for garments? I’m talking about custom dye-sublimation printing of course! If you’ve never heard of dye-sublimation printing before, then you will be pleasantly surprised by the possibilities! The funny thing is you’ve probably seen dye-sublimation printing before, but you just didn’t know what it was at the time. It is very popular for many retail fashion garments so it’s hard not to find garments that have been sublimated!
The reason why dye-sublimation printing is able to do so much is because it applies the whole image all at once and doesn’t need to be separated into layers of color. Other decoration methods, like screen printing or embroidery, have limits on the amount of detail you can reproduce and how many shades of color are possible. A special sublimation printer prints out the artwork just as you would onto a piece of regular office paper, but onto a heat resistant transfer paper instead, so your image is perfectly duplicated as a transfer. This is no ordinary transfer because the dyes used in the process are heat-reactive so that when they are heated they will convert into a gas directly from a solid state. The pressure of the heat press forces the gaseous dye to be permanently infused into the very material of the garment!

The quality of dye-sublimation printing is simply stunning because the gas creates a seamless blend from one color to the next. Even better than your print looking good, is the fact that your print will last the lifetime of the garment because it essentially becomes a part of the fabric when you apply it.
