The Brighton Print Fair is a new and exciting 10-day print selling event promoting printmaking in its various forms. It will happen from the 15th to the 24th of September. From classic printmaking, letterpress, posters, screen-printed gig posters to print products, the show will be a celebration of printmakers and printmaking. There will be great workshops for those wanting to learn something new, or wanting to make their own artworks at home.
The main gallery at Phoenix Brighton will host the main fair, with the entire space being hung with unframed prints, allowing the customer to choose the frame they wish as well as giving the exhibition a sense of unity. The rest of the venue will be used for printmaking classes, talks, demonstration, one-day specials, a 20th Century printmakers exhibition, an in-house framer and a café.
Brighton Print Fair in will feature the work of 60 printmakers from all around the country and you can find the full list of exhibitors here. You’re invited to visit the Printers Cinema which is a drop-in cinema featuring short films about printmaking. The Mid Century Print Exhibition will showcase and sell mid-century prints from artists represented by the Emma Mason Gallery from Eastbourne. The Printers Shop will sell cards, print products, printmaking and art materials, and will also offer a framing service.
Don’t miss the chance to attend a one-day pop up shop on Saturday 23rd September – The Brighton Wayzgoose Tabletop Printers Fair – where you can buy printed bags, books, posters, cards and textiles directly form the makers. The Brighton ChitChat Evening will happen that same evening, with the opportunity to meet eight printmakers who will be showing and speaking about their practice. You can also stop by the Ditchling Museum Print Trolley and print a letterpress postcard.
