Convention Day 1 Recap

Wednesday, July 5th, Alpha Xi Delta's 52nd National Convention kicked off in a grand fashion. On this day, Sisters from across the country flew in to O'hare International Airport with one thing in common: celebrating Alpha Xi Delta's magnificent milestones.

Registration for Convention started at 2p.m., Sisters used this opportunity to familiarize themselves with their convention programs, purchase shining stars for fellow attendees and network with both new and familiar faces. This was a wonderful opportunity for me to interact with our members and assist them in preparing for a the fun and informative week ahead!

In the market place, many of our licensed vendors had interactive booths set up. Below is a photo of me with my favorite shirt from Xi Boutique

There were several different smaller events that took place immediately following registration opening. There was a Rose Petals party with cupcakes and BetXi Bear and a CORT/TFA reunion! Sisters old and young were able to meet up and reminisce with old stories from their favorite collegiate leadership experiences. Below is a photo of some Rose Petal event attendees and BetXi!

The highlight of the evening was definitely the Mag Mile Mixer! Different departments of Alpha Xi Delta had booths set up around a beautifully decorated room. The historical landmarks of Chicago were displayed around the room for a larger than life photo opportunity, and there was delicious "taste of Chicago" catering. This was a great opportunity for both collegiates and alumnae to meet with Alpha Xi Delta staff and each other! I was thrilled to meet many of our distinguished alumnae and get to know more about their stories and experiences within Alpha Xi Delta!

Sisters enjoyed familiarizing themselves with Chicago, and the places and food it is most famous for. Pictured below is myself and another ELC sitting at the National Housing Corporation booth.

Day one of Alpha Xi Delta's 52nd National Convention went off without a hitch, and I can not wait to see how day two goes! I feel so blessed to be able to experience such an empowering event with such driven, genuine and loyal women.

Heart Sunshine,

Taylor Germaine
