Think about the occasions for which you get or send greeting cards. According to the Greeting Card Association, the December holidays are the busiest card giving occasions. What about when someone is sick? Or, when someone celebrates an important life milestone like a graduation, wedding or baby?

But, the one holiday that might slip your mind is actually the second most popular greeting card holiday - Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day cards account for more than 150 million of all greeting cards sold each year. That’s no surprise! We love telling our friends and family that we love them and how much we love them.

Alpha Xi Delta’s Communications and Marketing team takes special time each year to make a custom designed Valentine’s Day card that honors both the recipient’s and the giver’s love, not only for Alpha Xi Delta, but for each other.

The saying on this year’s card is from Alpha Xi Delta’s “Sweetheart Song”. The song and music was written by Eleanor Wichelman Jebens, a 1925 initiate of the Sigma Chapter at the University of Iowa. The last line of the song is

"I love you, my Alpha Xi girl."
