Work by
Professor Lari Gibbons was included in an exchange portfolio curated by Nicole Hand for the
2016 Mid America Print Council conference at Indiana University Southeast. Entitled
Visual Elegy, the project asked participants to create an original print in response to bell hooks’ recent book,
Appalachian Elegy. bell hooks is an acclaimed social activist, feminist theorist, artist, and native Kentuckian.
Visual Elegy has also been shown at Murray Art Guild (Murray, KY) and the Yeiser Art Center (Paducah, Kentucky).
