Presenting the launch of Alleykats, an all-round-creative studio. Previously having started out as an independent street wear and skate brand in 2012, Greg Harris has developed and grown his business into the brand known as Alleykats. Harris’ work is driven by his surroundings, his surroundings being the quirky, bustling city of Bristol, UK. A lot of this inspiration derives from the skateboarding/graffiti scene, both big passions in the designers life. Naturally playing an important part in his work. “I find Bristol is a great place to be, itʼs super vibrant, on my way to the studio in the morning I can see fresh graffiti from the night before along with new fly posters for a whole range of events all with different styles” says Harris.
Having started off in designing street wear, Harris has began to merge creative projects into his brand, hence extending his product line to include prints, zines and hand painted jackets. Moreover this creative overlap has lead to Harris working on a variety of different out of house projects for the likes of Stussy and Stones Throw Records among others.
“I get super excited about making new things and want to carry that energy in to my work, I feel itʼs important to keep things fun and not to take myself to seriously, after all this is something that I love so for now Iʼm happy to just keep making stuff, keep painting, printing, designing, drawing and most of all, just enjoy the ride.” – Greg Harris
